Reading the bite window: what the Tacklbox score actually means
By The Tacklbox Team

Open Tacklbox and the first thing you'll see is a number: today's bite score. It's a single, honest answer to "is it worth going out right now?" — but it helps to know what's behind it.
The bite score
The score blends several signals into a 0–100 rating for a given species and location:
| Signal | What it captures |
|---|---|
| Weather | Pressure trends, wind, cloud cover |
| Water | Temperature and clarity |
| Timing | Time of day, moonphase, season |
| Species | Behavior patterns specific to your target |
A score in the 90s — like the 99% "Excellent Bite" you'll sometimes see for largemouth bass — means the conditions are lining up about as well as they get.
The daily bite window
Conditions move through the day, so a single number isn't enough. The hourly
forecast highlights your bite window: the stretch of hours when activity is
predicted to peak. If your morning shows 6–9 AM glowing green, that's your cue.
Plan ahead with the 5-day outlook
Picking the day matters as much as the hour. The 5-day forecast lets you compare upcoming days at a glance, so you can schedule a trip around the best conditions instead of hoping for them.
